Hero Brown was born in the parish of St. Ann on the Island of Jamaica, and was raised in a Christian home by his parents Alvin and Cicelyn Brown. He attended the St Ann’s Bay New Testament Church of God where he gave his heart to the Lord at a tender age under the leadership of the Rev. R.R. Notice. Hero served in the church until he migrated to the U.S.A in 1999 where he continued his Christian journey at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Church of God under the ministry of the late Dr. Lenox Powell and former pastor Bishop Clive Porter.
Hero’s music ministry started in Jamaica with the gospel group, "The Seraphims" where he was one of the lead vocalists. By divine inspiration, he wrote songs, served as choir director, praise team leader, musician and music director. Growing up, Hero Brown found inspiration from Rev. F.C. Barnes and Franklyn Williams.
He thought that being inspired to write songs was God’s way of getting him through the hard times he was facing but little did he know that it was God leading him into his ministry. When the confirmation came that it was time to go into the studio, he was obedient to the leading. The road over the years has not been easy having encountered some road blocks and disappointments but he did not give up; he kept going having come to the realization very early in his Christian walk, that only what is done for Christ will last.
As a musician, Hero’s goal and desire is to encourage those whom he comes in contact with and win lost souls for the kingdom of Christ.
It is my heart’s desire to be in service for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who is Jesus Christ out creator. This journey has not been an easy one, but His grace has kept me thus far. I find it a privilege to do ministry knowing that he could have found someone else, I am grateful.
Throughout the years of this ministry I have seen the manifestation and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I have seen lives change, broken friendship mended and people re-committing their lives to God.
I thank the Lord for the people he has brought into my life to make this ministry what it is today. I thank the Lord for a wife that stands beside me through thick and thin. I thank God for the songs which He has deposited into my spirit, they have been a source of encouragement and blessing to me and others as well. To God be the Glory. Worshipping God is my heart's desire and this I will do for the rest of my life.
